We arrived 2 days early in Barcelona. We stayed at a hotel in the La Rambla's area, which made walking to the Gothic area easy.We took the Hop on Hop off bus to see most of the sites in Barcelona. They offerred 2 different routes a blue and red line, both lines can be done in the same day. There is plenty to see in Barcelona, The architecture was amazing and the city very clean.
Having cruised before on the Radiance class of ships, we found the Brilliance of the Seas impressive and clean thru out. The food, entertainment and service was above
average of other cruises we've been on.
Our itinenary included stops in Cyprus, Malta, 2 days in Alexandria and stops in Rhodes and Athens. We pre booked private tours for Cairo, Alexandria and in Athens, thus avoiding the crowded cruise line tours. Unlike Caribbean excursions our days in port were visiting historical sites, monuments and churches. The highlights being the Pyrymids at Giza, the Sphinx in Cairo and in Athens the Acropolis and the Olympic Stadium. We also enjoyed our stop in Rhodes,a walled city with it's shops and restaurants.
Overall we had a terrific time. It was a great itinenary, We'll have wonderful memories of a great cruise. I would recommend this trip to everyone.
